/etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config: the default configuration file
$HOME/.Xauthority: user authorization file where xdm stores keys for clients to read
/usr/lib/X11/xdm/chooser: the default chooser
/usr/bin/xrdb: the default resource database loader
/usr/bin/X: the default server
/usr/bin/xterm: the default session program and failsafe client
/var/lib/xdm/authdir/authfiles/A<display>-<suffix>: the default place for authorization files
/tmp/K5C<display>: Kerberos credentials cache
